category: Campus News 2005 alumni featured tonight on Discovery Channel’s “Bike Live” category: Campus News | May 12, 2014 (May 12, 1014)– Tune in at 10 p.m. to the Discovery Channel and show your support by voting for a couple of Carson-Newman alumni. Carson-Newman’s own Matt Harris and Chase Anderson will appear in the season premiere of the Discovery Channel reality show #bikerlive. Also appearing are Harris’ father Ed Harris and Andrew Carpenter, who also attended Carson-Newman. The 2005 graduates have teamed up as “40 Cal Customs” and will compete against two other teams to build the best custom bike. Harris has been making custom Harley Davidson bikes since his senior year at Carson-Newman. He even rode his first bike to his Carson-Newman graduation with his now wife Hannah Harris, who he met his freshman year and is also a fellow ’05 graduate. Harris and his father have fulltime jobs at Hamilton Equipment, but also maintain 40 Cal. Supporters can vote via Twitter during the program. Anderson, works as vice president for construction at Volunteer Maintenance and graduated from Carson-Newman with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. Harris graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in human exceptionalities. His wife Hannah (Kiker) Harris graduated with a bachelor of science in leisure services.
