Travis Stansell, Kyle Biery and Andrew Ward (picture left to right) are back by popular demand as they present the hilarious production "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)" at Carson-Newman Jan. 30 - Feb. 1.

(Jan. 17, 2020) JEFFERSON CITY, TN – An upcoming production at Carson-Newman University is "truly Shakespeare the way most people wish it were," according to Kyle Biery.

"The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)" will run Jan. 30–Feb. 1 at 7:30 p.m., and Feb. 2 at 2 p.m. The production will be held in Gentry Auditorium at Carson-Newman.

Back by popular demand, "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)" features locals Biery, C-N's associate professor of theatre, along with Travis Stansell, a 1998 C-N alumus, and Andrew Ward, a 1997 C-N alumnus.

The hilarious production has had runs in Jefferson City, Morristown and Campbellsville, Kentucky. The event is being billed as "what will surely be" the last time the trio will attempt to perform all 37 of Shakespeare's plays in one fatal swoop.

"It's fast, farcical and utterly absurd with cooking shows and football games and all things not associated with Shakespeare to both celebrate and roast the Bard," said Biery. "The only thing the show takes seriously is having fun."

Biery says the three have certainly enjoyed performing the popular production. "People tend to connect pretty quickly to our chemistry – three great friends doing what we love together," said Biery. "We have a great time and that spills over to the audience."
