Shape note singing and singing schools are a distinctly American form of music education and community music making dating back to pre-Revolutionary War days. It is also a living tradition still being practiced in our East Tennessee mountains today. Come enjoy an afternoon of immersive learning about the history of shape note singing in America, early American tunes, singing schools, and of course–singing the shapes!
