Administrative Assistant for Institutional Effectiveness

Job Title:​ Administrative Assistant for Institutional Effectiveness​​​​​​​​

Department: Institutional Effectiveness, Academic Affairs​​​​

Reports To: ​Director of Institutional Effectiveness, SACSCOC liaison, and leadership in Academic Affairs​​​​

Location:  On-site

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Time Requirements:  Can normally be completed in 40 hours per week​​​

Supervisory Responsibilities:  Student workers, as needed​  

Summary Description: This position provides administrative support for Institutional Effectiveness and for SACSCOC reporting and correspondence.

Essential Functions

• As an intentionally Christian academic community, Christian employees are hired to advance the mission of Carson-Newman as expressed in our strategic plan,Acorns to Oaks.

• Assist the SACSCOC Liaison and Director of Institutional Effectiveness in maintaining the relationship and accreditation with SACSCOC.

• Prepare correspondence for mailing, and preserve records of all correspondence,

• Organize the preparation of various reports, including substantive change reports, fifth-year reports and decennial reaffirmation reports, 

• Maintain and update University records pertinent to SACSCOC accreditation and to the Institutional Effectiveness process,

• Assist the Provost Office in various administrative tasks, including organizing events, preparing reports, and completing other duties as assigned.

Education:  Minimum of an Associate’s degree

Experience:   Similar work experience preferred

Required Skills: Familiarity with office computer systems such as Microsoft Office®.  Ability to learn or use PowerPoint®, Excel®, Access®, Word®, Colleague UI By Ellucian® and Etrieve by Softdocs®

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time. Must be able to access and navigate campus facilities.
