This year’s recital features performances by 2010 graduate Carrie Tedder Koehler on horn and Brandon Coffer, of the class of 2013, on piano. “It is an honor to have the musical artistry of these two young alumni coming back to Carson-Newman to perform,” said Dr. Angela Holder, associate professor of music. “Both graduates have continued to pursue their instruments and are known for their sensitivity and excellence in artistry.” The one-hour program will feature compositions by Gershwin, Beethoven, Chopin, Mozart and others. The late Mary Charlotte Ball, who served on the University’s music faculty, established the Ball Alumni Recital in honor of her husband, Dr. Louis Ball. A longtime professor and administrator, Dr. Ball was a visionary in the Tarr Music Center’s development. The concert is free and open to the public. Thomas Recital Hall is located in the Tarr Music Center along Russell Avenue on Carson-Newman’s campus.
