Carson-Newman president takes fall sabbatical

Our University president Dr. Randall O’Brien is taking a sabbatical for the fall 2016 semester. This was part of the agreement when he accepted the presidency in 2008. Our board of trustees, as part of the contract, included that after six years he was entitled to a summer/fall or a spring/summer sabbatical leave. Dr. O’Brien has postponed this option for a couple of years, and in May he decided to accept the offer for the fall semester only.

In his absence our provost, Dr. Paul Percy, and athletic director, Allen Morgan will share duties, serving as acting presidents.
