Carson-Newman’s University Relations Office earns state, national honors

(July 7, 2016) – This summer Carson-Newman’s University Relations Office has received several accolades for production of printed and video promotional pieces for the University.

“Getting to work with such a great team of professionals at Carson-Newman is pure joy,” says Mary Leidig, executive director of University Relations. “Receiving the recognition of national and regional marketing and public relations organizations through these awards is always an honor and propels us to continue to create our best for the University.”

The Volunteer Chapter of Public Relations Society of America cited Journey, the University’s institutional magazine, as well as Carson-Newman’s new enrollment marketing viewbook with an Award of Merit and an Award of Quality, respectively.

Chicago’s Ragan Communications recognized a pair of internally produced videos, “Carson-Newman’s International Festival: The World is Our Neighborhood” and “Move In Day 2015,” in its 2016 national video contest.

The Tennessee College Public Relations Associate (TCPRA) awarded the University Relations Office with the top two levels of honors, “Gold” and “Silver.” The organization recognized both print and online formats of Journey magazine.
