Family & Consumer Sciences Department welcomes new members to honor society

(April 12, 2016)—Carson-Newman University’s Family and Consumer Sciences Department welcomed new initiates to its honor society, the Kappa Beta Xi chapter of Kappa Omicron Nu (KON) on April 4. The ceremony also honored Carson-Newman President J. Randall O’Brien and First Lady Kay O’Brien as patron and patroness of the chapter. KON aims to empower leaders through scholarship, research and leadership. Members must be at least second-semester sophomores and rank in the top 25 percent of their FCS class, among other requirements.
