Resident assistants the focus of “Thank You” week

(April 6, 2015) — Carson-Newman University will honor some of its own April 11–15, as the campus devotes a week to saying “thank you” to its resident assistants.

“Resident assistants serve our campus 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” said Marilee Betz, Residence Life coordinator of Burnett Hall. “They are first responders in campus emergencies, and are often the “go-to” people for students when a question needs to be answered or a need met,” she said. “Our RAs are the “cream of the crop” amongst student leaders, and invest time and energy daily to make this University a safe home for all who live here. We want them to know how much they are appreciated.”

During Resident Assistant Appreciation Week residence life staff encourages the campus community to thank Carson-Newman’s some 50 resident assistants with social media “shout-outs,” handwritten notes and emails. Across campus, the University will treat RAs to free coffee at Maples Café, free snacks, a free diner and more.
