category: Campus News University to present Handel’s “Messiah,” Nov. 21 category: Campus News | November 20, 2015 (Nov. 20, 2015) – On Saturday, Nov. 21, Carson-Newman’s Music Department will present its sixty-sixth annual oratorio of Handel’s “Messiah.”Under the direction of Dr. Eric Thorson, the event will feature the University’s Oratorio Chorus and Orchestra, as well as area churches including Asbury United Methodist, Knoxville; Ball Camp Baptist, Knoxville; First Baptist, Jefferson City; First Baptist, Knoxville; First Presbyterian, Jefferson City; First United Methodist, Morristown; Fountain City United Methodist, Knoxville; West Hills Baptist, Knoxville.Free and open to the public, the 7:30 p.m. event will be held in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Jefferson City.
