Nored was named this year’s Student Leader of the Year and was recognized during C-N’s Student Leadership Awards Banquet. (April 15, 2014)– Carson-Newman University held its Student Leadership Awards Banquet on Monday, April 14. The event, held at Calhoun’s on the River in Knoxville, was sponsored by the University’s Student Affairs Division and recognized student leaders and those contributing to Carson-Newman’s student experience within the area of Student Affairs. “We have such fine students who volunteer their time and talents to make this University a wonderful place,” said Shelley Ball, dean of students. “They are the reason we come to work every day and we’re so proud of each one.” This year’s recipients include: Randall Nored, Student Leader of the Year; Best Buddies, Organization of the Year; Halloween Musical, Outstanding Program of the Year; Nenette Measels, Student Affairs Staff Member of the Year; Todd Turpin, Student Advocate of the Year; The Creek Café, Community Advocate of the Year.
