category: Campus News President-Student Swap Day raises over $7,000 for scholarship, BOOST program category: Campus News | April 8, 2014 Carson-Newman President Randall O’Brien and senior Analyn Borthick share a laugh before starting their new roles for “Trading Places: President-Student Swap Day.” Carson-Newman’s recent “Trading Places: President-Student Swap Day,” saw students raise over $7,000 in just a few days. Sponsored by the University’s Mortar Board honor society chapter, the event’s funds with go toward both an endowed scholarship as well as helping support BOOST, an afterschool program for children of Jefferson County and coordinated through Carson-Newman’s Bonner Center. The “swap day” allowed senior Analyn Borthick to be Carson-Newman’s president for the day, while President Randall O’Brien agreed to take on the schedule of a student.
