University says “thank you” to RAs

(April 4, 2014)– The University is celebrating Resident Assistants Appreciation Week, April 7-11. Throughout the week the campus community will have the opportunity to say “thank you” to the nearly 50 student leaders at Carson-Newman.

“In many ways, RAs serve as the “face of Carson-Newman” for our students,” said Marilee Betz, residence life coordinator for Burnett Hall. “RAs do not simply make an impact on the lives of students the first week of school, but instead they invest in their peer’s lives throughout the entire academic year.”

Opportunities of “thanks” will include social media posts, snacks and refreshments, signs, cards, and t-shirts. “We really wanted to set aside a week during the year to allow our students, staff and faculty to express their gratitude for the hard work that these students put forth all year,” said Betz.
