Carson-Newman University President Randall O’Brien will do about anything for his beloved Eagles student athletes- even jumping from a plane.

To show his support for Carson-Newman athletics and C-N’s soccer program, Dr. O’Brien issued a challenge prior to the University’s first home soccer game. Aimed at promoting fan support among the community and some 2,000 Carson-Newman students, the University president committed to skydiving if 1,000 fans attended the Sept. 14 opening game. The event exceeded the required 1,000 attendance. Keeping his end of the deal, O’Brien jumped with Skydive East Tennessee on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
