C-N to unveil permanent display to mark name change

Carson-Newman University

Carson-Newman University will unveil a panel display on campus Thursday, April 11, to help celebrate the school’s name change from “College” to “University.” The event will be held in the University’s Stokely Memorial Cafeteria at 2:00 p.m.

Orchestrated by C-N’s Faculty Council, the permanent display will feature the collaborated work by members of C-N’s Art and English Departments. Three panels will represent C-N’s faculty from the past, present and future. The work will incorporate ideas by faculty members including photos, faculty names and faces, and a nod to C-N’s historical connection to the oak tree.

Stokely Memorial Cafeteria is located on the corner of George Ave. and East College St.

The panel unveiling is the third of five celebratory events scheduled during the semester to mark the institution’s move to “University” in name.
