Carson-Newman announces Military Appreciation Day for Mars Hill game

In honor of Veterans’ Day, Carson-Newman football is opening the gates to Burke-Tarr Stadium to all active service members and veterans for free for the Mars Hill game.

In addition to free admission for those who have served, there will be a static display of a military helicopter and Humvee on the practice field from 11 a.m. to noon the day of the game.

Carson-Newman and Mars Hill kick-off at 1 p.m. from Burke-Tarr Stadium. The winner sews up a spot in the Division II playoffs while the loser will have to wait to see if they are selected.

The Lions are ranked third in the latest Super Region II standings while the Eagles are in fourth.
