C-N Jazz Ensemble to perform concert on Thursday, Nov. 1

The Carson-Newman Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Professor Pat Bivens, will be performing in concert this Thursday evening, November 1, at 7:30 p.m. in the Gentry Auditorium. The jazz ensemble will be joined by guest artist Reggie Coleman, a jazz vocalist from Knoxville. The concert will include big band vocal standards such as “Come Fly with Me,” “The Summerwind,” and “Minnie the Moocher” as well as more recent standards like “Knock On Wood” and “Save the Last Dance.”

Coleman is a vocalist with the 572nd Air Force Band located in Knoxville and has served in the Middle East with the Air Force Central Command Band Sirocco. The ensemble will also host a Stop Shop for Operation Christmas Child in the lobby before and after the concert.
