Advancement Coordinator

Job Title: Advancement Coordinator  

Department: Advancement ​​​​​

Reports To: Vice President for University Relations​​​​

FLSA Status: Exempt

Time Requirements: Full-time, 40-plus hours a week with some nightsweekends, and travel required​​

Summary Description: The Advancement Coordinator assists in stakeholder identification and engagement strategies as well as coordinating and assisting in the management of events under the oversight of the University Relations department

Functional Description: 

1. As an intentionally Christian academic community, Christian employees are called to advance the mission of Carson-Newman as expressed in our strategic plan, Acorns to Oaks.

2. Researching, identifying and proposing new relationships for the advancement of Carson-Newman, its mission, vision and values

3. Ongoing database development of potential new relationships to be fostered by director, making use of gift reports, social media, and various online resources for prospect identification. 

4. Assists in stewardship of existing C-N relationships

5. As part of the cultivation process, identifies prospect giving potential and projects that may align with their values/ability.

6. Monitors existing donor activity to identify opportunities for cultivation of major gifts and builds relationships with the University’s stakeholders.

7. Guards the reputation of the University, maintaining strict confidentiality in all University and donor matters and demonstrates the ability to use discretion in sharing information.

8. Coordinate the scheduling, planning, logistics and execution of events.

9. Other duties as requested    

Education:  Bachelor’s degree preferred

Experience: A minimum of one year preferred.

Required Skills:  

Excellent written and oral communication. Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds. Superior organizational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Basic working knowledge of Slate or similar CRM software.  

Physical Demands: Extended amounts of time sitting at a computer. Periodically working events that require standing for extended periods of time as well as lifting items in excess of 30 pounds.
