The Exercise Science degree is designed to provide a thorough background in the areas of exercise and human performance. Students can choose from two tracks within the major:
Exercise Science with a Medical Emphasis – This degree is designed for future physical therapists, occupational therapists, chiropractors, osteopaths, orthopedists, and other professionals that want a medical emphasis in the exercise science field. A foundation for the prevention and rehabilitation of injuries and issues are built. Additionally, students explore human movement and gain an in-depth understanding of the human body.
Exercise Science with a Coaching and Fitness Emphasis – This program is designed for those who want to coach, train, and prepare individuals to improve their overall health and wellness. Graduates have become professional coaches, personal trainers, group fitness instructors and wellness instructors. Students understand not only the human body, but also how to prepare it for maximum performance considering varied ability levels.
