The Choral Department of the School of Fine Arts at Carson-Newman is a place of high standards. If you want to feel challenged with having personal attention from professional musicians and high-ranking professors, then you should consider Carson-Newman as your college home.
Our mission, as a private, liberal arts college, is to provide our students with as many musical opportunities as possible, to fully prepare them for a life full of artistic expression. Through the study of various choral literature from the Renaissance period to the more modern stage productions, Carson-Newman's Choral Department strives to perform with excellence.
Students interested in choral performing have many opportunities through a variety of vocal ensembles including: A Cappella Choir, Men's Chorus, Oratorio Chorus, Women Singers, Opera Scenes, Lyric Theatre, and Redemption (the Christian Contemporary vocal ensemble sponsored by the music department.) In recent years, our ensembles have performed with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, the Knoxville Choral Society, and in concert tours throughout the region and across the globe, including Carnegie Hall in New York, and a Christmas Eve performance in Bethlehem's Manger Square.
