Print Reserves Instructions
To check out print materials your professors placed on reserve, bring your student ID card with you to the circulation desk. Tell the library employee the name of the book, the professor's name, and the class for which it is reserved. If you have already looked up the item in the online catalog using the course reserves search features (links above), please tell the employee the call number of the item you need. Loan periods vary from one hour library-only use to one week check-outs. Journal articles will be placed on Electronic Reserves . Those instructions follow. Check with the library employee if you cannot locate the material either on E-Reserves or in the library catalog print reserves listing.
To access materials placed on electronic reserves (journal articles, notes, and other non-book printed materials), search the library catalog's course reserves listing using the links above or either of the navigational links on the library home page (see screen shot below). You can search by professor's name (last name first), course number (REL 102), or the course title (Introduction to the New Testament). On the results page, click on the title of the item you need to access. On the next screen, be sure to click on the long link BENEATH the call number. The correct link will begin with the phrase, "Connect to https://library.cn.edu" (see screen shot below) . You will then be prompted for the E-res username and password. If you do not remember what that is, please contact your professor or a librarian. For security purposes and copyright compliance, you will need to provide the library with your full name and C-N ID number for us to be able to provide you with the username and log-in information. If, after entering the username and password, the file does not open, please contact the library for further assistance.
