On Saturday morning, March 16, the Carson-Newman Honors Program will travel to Oak Ridge, Tennessee to tour the new American Museum of Science and Energy. The museum, while a longstanding part of the Oak Ridge community, has been moved into a brand new facility. Those that have been before will surely want to see how much has changed. The museum teaches visitors about the history of the facility's role in the Manhattan Project, and the role of nuclear power in general.
Those that want to ride the van should appear in the Henderson parking lot as usual at 8:45 AM. Those that want to find their own transportation should appear at the museum itself at 10 AM. The museum is located at 115 E Main St, Oak Ridge, TN 37830.
Lunch will follow, with location to be determined by discussion between participants.
I hope to see you there!
