Appalachian Outreach’s Jean-Ann Washam accepts a $2000 donation from Mike and Gail Kumpf on behalf of Johnson Ferry Baptist Church.  The JFBC Global Missions contribution was made to help complete the ministry’s new Samaritan House, the facility dedicated to helping homeless families stay together while regaining an economic foothold.  The George Wright Sunday school class, of which the Kumpfs are members, sent more than $1000 to stock AO’s community food pantry.  Some 24 volunteers from the class, which has and average age of approximately 65, came from Metro Atlanta for the week of service.  It’s the third annual summer trip for Wright Class members, and those who cannot attend send contributions or help pay for others to make the trip. With Washam and the Kumpfs are AO’s Jim Wilson and George Husk (far right).
