C-N, Jeff County High School choruses to perform Handel’s ‘Messiah’

(Nov. 12, 2019) JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. — Few things can kindle the Christmas spirit more than the resounding triumph of the “Hallelujah Chorus.”

Carson-Newman University’s choral forces will join with Jefferson County High School’s chorus during the University’s Fall Oratorio, scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, in First Baptist Church of Jefferson City.

This year’s production will feature the Christmas portion of Handel’s “Messiah.” A 20-piece professional orchestra will provide the accompaniment, and vocal students at the University will be the featured soloists.

The event is free and open to the public.
