People Samuel Emmons Samuel Emmons Assistant Professor of Physics Samuel Emmons received a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance from the University of Wisconsin-EauClaire. During that time, he also majored in physics. He attended graduate school at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, where he received a Ph. D. in theoretical nuclear physics, concentrating in low-energy effective field theories. Samuel and his wife reside in Knoxville, TN.
