Student Minister

1st LG (First Baptist Church of Locust Grove, GA) is looking for an outgoing, fun-loving,

full-time Student Minister to join our team and help us impact the youth in our community and develop our students to be people who are so radically in love with Jesus and surrendered to Him that they change the world!

What’s Expected:

· Have a personal, growing relationship with Jesus

· Develop relationships and invest in the students in our church

· Intentionally engage lost students so they can come to know Jesus

· Establish and implement the Student Ministry vision in coordination with the Lead Pastor’s vision for the church

· Be responsible for planning, organizing, promoting, evaluating, and continuing the growth of a comprehensive Student Ministry (6th – 12th grade)

· Build the necessary teams to carry out the Student Ministry of 1st LG

· Recruit and lead the adult Student Ministry team members

· Attend and participate in staff meetings

· Attend and participate in a Life Group

· Assist in pastoral duties such as visits, personal/family counseling, etc. and serve as directed by the Lead Pastor

· Have a love for Jesus and His Word

· Have a passion and a clear calling to serve as a Student Minister

· Have a love for reaching the unchurched

· Be able to teach the Scriptures in a way that is culturally relevant and leads students to their next step with Jesus

· Believe that students are vital to all aspects of the church and are catalysts for leading the community to Jesus

· Be culturally aware and technologically proficient

· Have a high commitment to the local church

· Meet the Biblical qualifications of an Elder found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:6-9

· Be Biblically grounded, theologically conservative, and methodologically innovative

· Be a team player and team builder

· Possess strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude

· Be a self-starter and hard worker, who strives for excellence
