Human Resource Asst./Personal and Administrative Asst.

This position is a Human Resource Assistant (Military), GS-0203-08, position with the US Army Cadet Command located at Carson-Newman University, in Jefferson City, TN.
The primary duties include:
-Prepare enrollment and contract documents for students enrolling in the basic and advanced courses to include requesting transcripts on new individuals interested in pursuing Recruit Officer Training Corps (ROTC).
-Contact and coordinate with students and families providing excellent administrative support and customer service in alignment with recruiting and retention efforts.
-Monitor cadet life cycle performance and academic transcripts, transfer of credit, grade point average, Tuition/Fees, academic major, class rolls and student contact information to ensure continued compliance with eligibility requirements.
-Prepare medical and personnel digital and paper files for cadets attending development training.
-Employment requires a background check, SECRET security clearance, and possible all expenses paid and temporary travel during the summer for 6-12 weeks to Ft. Knox, KY.
-Experience or Education or a combination of experience and education will be considered; primarily seeking one year of experience in managing personnel records OR one and a half years of graduate level education OR a combination of both education and experience. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond one year (total semester hours minus 18) by 9. Add the two percentages.
