Female Youth Center Worker

POSITION SUMMARY:
Good News Ministries is seeking a female to assist in the operation of its Youth Center, which serves at-risk inner-city youth ages 8-18 in Indianapolis, Indiana. This is a paid split full- and part-time on-site position.

WORKING HOURS:
• Full-time During the School Year: Monday to Friday, 3-8 p.m.
• Full-time During School Vacations: Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Part-time During the School Year: Monday to Friday, 12-9 p.m.
• Part-time During School Vacations: Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Note: Other hours for special events and off-site activities may be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepare and present Bible studies
• Counsel youth regarding salvation, Christian growth, biblical family values, respect for authority, school attendance, and educational improvement
• Canvass neighborhood to recruit new Youth Center attendees and visiting the homes of our youth to keep in contact with youth and parents
• Monitor youth in regular and special activities onsite and off-site
• Coordinate games and contests
• Develop/research/monitor new exciting games
• Encourage godly sportsmanship
• Tutor youth, help with homework and computer skills, and coordinate work in practice books
• Run a Sunday morning bus ministry
• Aid the Director in the expansion and development of the Youth Center
• Lead volunteer staff in various projects and programs, organizing, decorating, cleaning/fixing center and playground
• Other tasks as needed for ministry

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Female at least 19 years of age
• Well-grounded in scripture
• A love for youth
• A burden to see youth saved and discipled
• Mature, self-controlled and presenting a positive example to the youth
• Prior youth ministry experience helpful, but not required
