Organization Overview: Girls Inc. of Hamblen County’s mission is to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. Since 1972, we have worked to create a world where girls can grow up healthy, educated, and independent with a strong foundation for success.
Position Summary: The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for the strategic leadership of the organization and oversight of all programming staff. Responsibilities include managing staff, overseeing program administration while partnering with the National Girls Inc. organization. The ED also partners with the Board of Directors to ensure long-term planning, strong fund development success, and representation of Girls Inc. in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Organizational Management
● Maintains policies, official records, and documents to ensure the legal and regulatory compliance of the organization and the safety of its constituents
● Supports the organization by understanding the culture and adjusts to meet daily needs of the business
● Oversees all financial decisions and prepares financial presentations for the Board of Directors and funding partners as needed
● Assures non-profit and legal requirements are met 2. Human Resources

● Supervises and develops staff to meet the needs of the organization
● Responsible for ongoing coaching, mentoring, and training of current team
members
● Oversees hiring, training and recruitment of new team members as needed
Fund Development and Fundraising
● Works with the staff and Board members to help design and execute key fundraising efforts for the organization
● Promotes active and broad participation by board members, advisers, and supporters in all areas of the organization
● Cultivates strong relationships in the community to develop revenue
● Oversees the development of strategic grant proposals and reports.
4. Partnerships & External Relations

● Navigates complex interrelationships with partnering agencies and program partners
● Works with team members to recruit and retain Volunteers
● Creates and strengthens relationships and cooperative agreements with program
partners, community leaders and organizations
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in education, social work, or a related field preferred along with 5 years of experience in a management position.
• Proven ability to lead a team to develop and implement a tactical plan that provides programming and services that align with the organization’s strategic plan and vision.
• Demonstrated ability to problem solve and make decisions in personnel, finance, and programming.
• Demonstrated success in fundraising and knowledge of the community’s educational and non-profit culture with the ability to partner with the Board of Directors to build relationships with community partners and funders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with a capacity to speak publicly for networking and fundraising paired with high technological skills to modernize organizational management.
• Demonstrated ability in incorporating diverse cultures, ethnicities, languages, identities, and abilities both within an organization and with the community.
• Experience in overseeing the management of property and facilities.
