Department: Nursing Reports To: Chair, Department of Nursing Location: On-site FLSA Status: Exempt Time Requirements: 9-mon, as contracted Supervisory Responsibilities: None Summary Description: Candidates for this position must have an active, unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse with a minimum of a Master’s degree in Nursing and relevant psychiatric-mental health experience. Faculty engage in teaching, University and community service, and professional development in support of University strategic goals and student success. Faculty duties and policies are fully described in the Carson-Newman University Faculty Handbook, which takes precedence as the policy manual for the Faculty of the University. Teach didactic and clinical as assigned by the Chair of the Department of Nursing. Collaborate with the Director of Simulation to incorporate simulation into courses. Establish and maintain positive working relationships with clinical agencies. Complete evaluations of students, clinical sites, and when utilized, adjunct faculty. Coordinate clinical orientation for faculty and students. Collaborate with the department’s clinical coordinators to ensure student clearance. Attend University and departmental meetings, and serves on committees as assigned. Exhibit initiative, enthusiasm, collegiality, and teamwork. Maintain and demonstrate ongoing currency of nursing knowledge. Provide academic advising and mentorship for undergraduate students.
