Assistant Professor of Exercise Science

Carson-Newman University invites applicants for an Assistant Professor in Exercise Science. The position is full-time, 9 month, tenure track.

Candidates for the position must have a Masters or Ph.D. in Exercise Science or a related field.

Candidates for the position of Assistant Professor in Exercise Science will ideally meet the following criteria: A faculty member in the Exercise Science program should be broadly trained, successful as a classroom teacher, experienced teaching with technology, and have an interest/experience with grant writing. Certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association or the ability to obtain CSCS certification is preferred. Depending upon qualifications, teaching responsibilities will include courses such as strength and conditioning, applied kinesiology, motor learning and development, administration of exercise science, fitness for special populations, foundations of EXSC, and selected topics courses. Additional responsibilities include internship and/or practicum supervision, student advisement, committee work, and service to the university and community.  In addition to teaching lower and upper-level courses, the ideal candidate will also be willing to direct undergraduate research projects.
