Don joined the C-N faculty in 1980 and teaches Old Testament Introduction, OT Prophets, and Proverbs, Job, Ecclesiastes. His wife, Vickie, completed her degree in elementary education at C-N in 1993 and is retired from teaching second grade. All three of their sons chose C-N. Aaron (1979-1999), a computer science major, deceased three weeks before his junior year at C-N; Andrew (’03, Biology) is a physical therapist; and Adam (’06, Religion; Psychology) is a seminary graduate, works as a pastoral counselor, and is married to Sarah, a pharmacist.
Don frequently is invited to speak in churches and has served as interim pastor in KY and TN. He is certified as an Intentional Interim Minister [ www.healthychurch.org ]. He has taught at two seminaries and has published one book and many articles about the Bible and Christian faith. Don especially enjoys “old” things like antique automobiles and doing archaeology in Jordan [ see www.vkrp.org ].
