Welcome to our Drum Major Camp! Whether you’re already the drum major of your band or aspiring to take the podium, our specialized camp is designed to elevate your skills in conducting and leadership. Join us for a transformative experience where you will engage in a variety of activities, personalized help sessions for drum major teams, and fundamentals in score reading and marching. Develop stylistic conducting styles, learn effective teaching strategies, and master the art of creating salutes. This camp is your stepping stone to becoming a more confident and skilled drum major. Students will receive instruction in the following:

  • Extended Individual Help Sessions for DM teams
  • Basics of Conducting
  • Conducting Styles & Techniques
  • Score Reading
  • Basic Teaching Strategies
  • Marching Fundamentals
  • Leadership Skills
  • Creation of Salutes

Overnight Participant Fee

Regular Fee: $350 (starting April 1st)
Includes 3 nights lodging, meals, and instruction.

Daily Participant Fee

Regular Fee: $250 (starting April 1st)
Includes instruction and 3 meals a day

Instructors

Chase Jones  — University of Arkansas Assistant Band Director, former University of Arkansas Drum Major & former Phantom Regiment Assistant Conductor

Overnight Campers — Stay in Carson-Newman’s dormitories under the supervision of trained counselors.

Dining — Enjoy delicious meals in our dining facilities.

Commuter Option — Local students can choose to attend camp during the day and return home in the evenings.

Overnight Campers: $350(includes tuition, housing, and meals)

Commuter Campers: $250 (includes tuition and lunch/dinner)

Early Registration Deadline: March 31st, 2025 (Register Early and receive a $50 discount)
Overnight Campers: $300
