Butler-Blanc is used for a variety of activities throughout the year. The main floor includes a basketball court, bouldering wall (which is used for rock climbing class offered to Carson-Newman students), the First Year and Conference Services office, and the Commuter Lounge. Upstairs there is a track and a conference room. The lower floor, or basement, is where the Art Room and B.O.L.D. Center are located. The area in front of the building, the Tom Cronan Plaza and the Eyrie, are also available for use.
The building is used for Carson-Newman F.C.A., The Village, Intramurals, Cheer & Dance Squads, Outdoor Recreation classes, FYCS Summer Day Camps, Birthday Parties, Conferences, Camps, and more.
