Youth Ministry/Hiking & Lock-in – March 2-4, 2017
Smoky Mountains, TN
This mission team will be hosting a "camp in." We will host various local teens from YOKE Youth Ministries and "camping in" at Butler-Blanc Gymnasium. We will teach the basics of backpacking, hiking, and camping including: How to pack a pack, How to set-up a tent, How to build a fire, How to cook over a fire, etc. We will use fire pits to cook meals and have devotions and s'mores around a fire. During the day we will take advantage of East Tennessee's beautiful surroundings participating in great day hikes and then hold B.O.L.D. (team building exercises) and gym activities at night. This will be a great opportunity to introduce teens to hiking/camping, and God's great outdoors while pouring into the lives of some equally great middleschoolers.
NOTE: Each S.P.O.T.S. Missionary's portion will pay for both him/herself as well as help to sponsor an area youth; giving them an opportunity to experience the great outdoors as well as experience Christian examples and teachings in their lives.
*Previous outdoor experience is expected for this trip as you will be serving as a leader to those with less experience.
*Capacity: 5 College Students (12 Middleschoolers)
