Carson-Newman University invites applicants for an ASSISTANT OR ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF COUNSELING in the DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AND COUNSELING. The position is FULL-TIME, 11 MONTH, TENURE TRACK to begin January 2019.
Candidates for the position are required to have a completed doctorate from a CACREP accredited doctoral Counselor Education program. Preference given to dually licensed or license eligible candidates in Professional School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling with experience working in school and mental health settings with children, adolescents, adults, and families. If candidate is only trained in one area, the candidate should be trained and license eligible in Professional School Counseling. Additional preference include graduate teaching experience, evidence of and/or potential for research in the field of counseling, commitment to the mission of the university, a strong dedication to social justice, diverse populations, and community service. The candidate is required to have evidence of working effectively with teams of counselors and educators to build and maintain strong counseling programs.

The selected candidate for the position of ASSISTANT OR ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF COUNSELING will serve as a core faculty member of a CACREP School Counseling and CACREP Clinical Mental Health Counseling program, supervise practicum and internship students, advise students, mentor students, work as a member of a collaborative Counselor Education team, build community and regional support, conduct research activities in the area of counseling, serve as a role model for the students and counselors of the region through professional development involvement and presentations, coordinate the dual degree program and the EdS program in Collaboration and Leadership in Counseling, and serve on university committees as assigned. Other duties may be assigned.
