ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF VOICE

Carson-Newman University invites applicants for an Assistant Professor of Voice. This is a full-time tenure-track position in applied voice to begin August 2020. Primary responsibilities include teaching applied voice. Additional responsibilities may include voice related courses, a choral ensemble, or other courses based on the successful candidate’s expertise, background, and departmental needs. Effective studio teaching and performing essential.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop quality relationships with area musicians and perform advising, recruiting, and committee responsibilities as needed by the University. An earned Doctorate is preferred, ABD candidates will be considered, while a Masters, with commensurate performance experience, is considered the minimum requirement. The successful candidate will show professional performance experience and proficient teaching at the collegiate level. Preference will be given to soprano, mezzo-soprano, and contralto voice applicants.
The rank and salary will be commensurate with educational preparation and experience. This position is projected to receive a nine-month contract. Group life and health insurance, as well as 401K-retirenment plan, are available on a participation basis.
