ASSISTANT OR ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF MATHEMATICS

Carson-Newman University invites applicants for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science. The position is full-time, 9 month, tenure track. Applications will be received until the position is filled.
Candidates for the position are required to have a master’s degree in mathematics or statistics, although an earned doctorate is preferred. The candidate must have demonstrated excellence in teaching and the ability to teach all levels of undergraduate mathematics; the ability to advise and mentor undergraduate students; commitment to teamwork and professional involvement; and a commitment to the mission of the university.

Candidates for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor will be expected to teach 24 semester hours per year; advise students in the discipline; and contribute to curriculum development, assessment, and accreditation. The candidate will be expected to contribute to the university and department missions, be a collegial member of the institution at all levels, participate in professional and scholarly activities, and provide services to the department and to the community-at-large.
