Orange & Blue Society

Carson-Newman University’s Alumni Association is excited to announce The Orange and Blue Society, a new alumni membership program. The Orange & Blue Society seeks to actively involve and better engage and serve our C-N alumni.
Membership will provide benefits and opportunities for alumni and their families. Some of the benefits include discounts on Carson-Newman’s campus in the bookstore, cafeteria, and theatrical performances- just to name a few. Membership will also include invitations to fun local and regional events to connect with fellow alumni. The most exciting opportunity will be the Legacy Scholarship. Beginning with the 2020 fall semester, this $1000 scholarship will be available to any descendant of a Carson-Newman alumni who is a current donor to C-N and a member of the Orange & Blue Society at the Orange Level. This is an amazing opportunity to keep the C-N legacy going in your family!
As alumni you know the C-N experience doesn’t end after graduation. It lasts a lifetime! Becoming a member of the Orange & Blue Society is one of the most meaningful ways to continue to stay involved and impact Carson-Newman. Your membership will help us keep Eagles connected to each other and this university we all love. Membership is about traditions and lifelong connections. The Orange & Blue Society seeks to engage more alumni, introduce the next generation of legacy students to Carson-Newman, and provide worthy programs and member benefits.
When you graduate from Carson-Newman you become one of more than 22,000 Eagles around the world. When you become a member of the Orange & Blue Society you step into the inner circle and play a direct role in supporting your alma mater, fellow alumni, current and future students.

Our hope is that with this opportunity you will stay connected and involved because we value your presence and engagement.

More on the Legacy Scholarship

The Legacy Scholarship was established to encourage the descendants of Carson-Newman University alumni to attend their parents’ or grandparents’ alma mater and perpetuate the legacy of Carson-Newman within their family. This program was designed to recognize the commitment and support of alumni in choosing to send their loved ones to C-N.

Legacy Scholarship FAQs

Who awards the Legacy Scholarship? The Legacy Scholarships are awarded by the C-N Office of Financial Aid.
Who is eligible for the Legacy Scholarship? Awards are given to currently enrolled students, incoming freshman or transfer students. The student must be a descendant of a C-N alum (undergraduate, graduate, Ph.D.) who is a current donor to C-N and member of the Orange & Blue Society at the Orange Level. Freshman recipients are eligible to renew the scholarship for four years of full-time enrollment at C-N. Transfer students are eligible to renew the scholarship for up to four years of full-time enrollment as an undergraduate.
Why do I have to also be a current C-N donor? The Orange & Blue Society was established to raise resources to help offset the costs associated with new alumni engagement activities. In no way does the Orange & Blue Society want to take away from areas you have historically supported such as the Eagle Club, Annual Fund, Major Gifts, Scholarships, Athletics, and other programs. These areas are very important and are still in need of your ongoing financial support.
Are there other eligibility requirements? Applicants must have applied for admission to Carson-Newman. Awards are given to currently enrolled students, accepted students and qualifying transfer students.
How do I apply for the Legacy Scholarship? You will find a place on the C-N application to indicate that you are eligible for the Legacy Scholarship. *The legacy scholarship will not be available until the fall semester of 2020.
