Faith & Justice Scholars

APPLY NOW!
Applications are now open for the 2024-25 incoming class for both Freshmen and Transfers. Application deadline is Friday, January 5th, 2024.

The Faith & Justice Scholars Program of Carson-Newman University is dedicated to nurturing students toward a life of faith-driven action in solidarity with the most marginalized and oppressed members of our world. Through committed community service and intentional faith development, students are challenged to engage their world through a process of Awareness, Analysis, Advocacy, and Action.

Dedicated to compassion, nurtured through community, challenged through critical analysis, and centered on Christ, Scholars complete a minimum of 50 hours of service with a local faith-based organization in addition to 50 hours of intentional faith development each semester. Supported by local practitioners and educators, Scholars are encouraged to mature into Christlike servants of their communities, both locally and globally.

Each year, Scholars are selected to join the program through an application and interview process conducted during the year prior to their matriculation at Carson-Newman. Interested students can apply by clicking on the “Apply Now” hyperlink at the top of this page.

In addition to significant opportunities for service and faith development, Scholars are eligible to receive scholarship awards of $1,000 per academic year, renewable for up to three additional years.
