The privilege of providing a Christ-centered education to students is a high calling. From our founding in 1851, Carson-Newman has worked as an extension of the local church. We deliver a distinctive Christ-honoring education to equip our students to become “educated citizens and worldwide servant-leaders.” Our world needs college graduates who are well equipped for excellence in the workplace and have a biblically-shaped worldview.

With the pandemic changing our daily routines, political polarization creating division, and financial uncertainty rocking our world, we sense a need for prayer like never before. As an institution we desire greater and more intentional prayer support and our students need focused and consistent prayer as they prepare to become difference-makers.

It is with this in mind that we ask you to consider becoming a daily prayer warrior. We invite you to sign up and commit to take a few minutes each day to specifically pray for our faculty, staff and students as well as other matters deserving of your prayers.

Here is the vision! We are soliciting prayer warriors from across the nation to commit to pray daily. You will receive a daily email with the name of a faculty member, a staff member, a few students, and a specific prayer request for the institution. Assembling this army of prayer warriors is an essential spiritual need for us as we navigate the future.

Once we have assembled this army of prayer warriors, we plan to place, in the heart of the campus, your name on a brick where the majority of our students, faculty, and staff walk every day. It will be a daily reminder that we are not in this alone. As our campus community walks through campus, they will see the host of names who are praying daily for them. It will encourage all of our hearts and strengthen our resolve to serve faithfully and finish well.

Please know that this is nothing more than a solicitation for prayer warriors. Your prayers will pave the way for a powerful move of God on this campus and an incredible move of God through this University and in the communities where our graduates go.
