Faith and Learning Questions

In the Sociology and Human Services department, faculty and students explore questions that integrate their Christian faith with their course content. For example,

  • How should Christ followers respond to the poor?
  • How can one reconcile Jesus’ command to love our enemy with war? This becomes an enduring dilemma if we pursue a foreign policy that creates a never-ending supply of enemies.
  • Is there really a Biblical basis for being “green” (an environmentalist)? Or, is concern for the environment one of those things in life that’s just a good idea, whether or not the Bible encourages it?
