  • SmartboardsTM for additional class rooms @ $4500 each
  • Baritone Sax $7,500

  • Lockers for Band Storage area $18,000
  • Replace clocks in the hallways with stand-alone clocks that can be set to the correct time. 9 at about $40-$50 ea. = $360-$450

B

  • Delayed Maintenance
    • Replace and improve the carpet in 100 and the tile and rubber of the steps in Choral room
    • Ventilation in the choral library.      $1000.00
    • Replace floor tiles in 4 bathrooms with solid linoleum (to prevent floods). Cost estimated at $4/sq. ft. = $1500 plus labor each = $6000.00
    • Rehang TRH door
  • Newer computer for the Choral Library $1000.00
  • Variety of shelving and storage improvements $7,000

C              

  • Combo Locks for percussion practice rooms $600
  • Music Ed Instruments (flt, clar, tpt, tbn, strings) $25,000
  • Cost of a year of music for any of the ensembles (varies, $1000.00 per ensemble for choral music)
  • Voice Lab - to get started $15,000

  • New seats for the Recital Hall (at least $50,000)
  • Kawai CE 200 full-size digital keyboards for piano lab $24,000 (12 @ $2,000 each)

 

Scholarships

$30,000 to start a new named scholarship

The declared yield is set by the Trustees and is currently at 4%.                      30,000 X 4% = 1200 per year

Current top music scholarship is $5000 and has been that for several years.  We need to move to $6000.  $150,000 is needed to yield $6000 each year.

$1,000,000 would yield $40,000 each year

 

We would like to be an All-Steinway School

To become an All-Steinway School, 90% or more of the acoustic pianos owned by an institution must be Steinway & Sons, Boston or Essex pianos.

We currently have 54 pianos on campus, 21 of which are either Boston or Steinway (39%).  To achieve the 90% requirement, 49 of the 54 pianos must be Steinway or Steinway-designed.  Therefore, our goal is to purchase 28 more pianos to achieve All-Steinway status.
