Undergraduate

Pre-Engineering

The pre-engineering program is designed to be the first two years of an engineering degree program. A student takes basic physics and math courses as well as other general education courses required by most engineering schools. After two years, the student transfers to an engineering school.

An alternate track is for students to complete a four-year degree in physics at Carson-Newman and then continue on to graduate school in engineering to earn an advanced degree. Typically, a student who chooses this path will have to take a semester of undergraduate engineering courses before formally entering the graduate engineering program.
