Advertising/Public Relations

Understanding objectives and strategies that shape the communication delivered to different types of publics is the goal of the emphasis in Advertising/Public Relations. Students are prepared to analyze, construct, manage and consume advertising and public relations messages using a wide variety of media. Public relations students study how organizations strategically communicate to audiences through publications and videos, crisis management, media relations, special events planning, building brand identity and product value, and communicating with stockholders, clients or donors. Students also have the opportunity to coordinate and direct advertising and promotional campaigns.
