Camp Instructor

Qualifications:

Loves kidsA ChristianEnjoy teaching children and pre-teensTeaching experience preferredAbility to teach and lead various educational activities based on camp themeExcellent character, integrity and adaptabilityAbility to communicate and work with a variety of age and skill levelsThe desire and ability to work in a cooperative, team-oriented atmosphereEnthusiasm, sense of humor, patience and self-controlPass a TN State and national run background check.Need to be available for training which will be announced, and will happen before camp sessions begin.Available for a portion of the day between 7:30am-5:30pm, Monday – Friday from May 27 – June 28. You will be required to stay later once a week for camp meetings.

Counselor Responsibilities:

Provide the instruction to camper for the indicated activity or subject. Plan and teach the associated knowledge and skills to help campers complete the activities or acquire the knowledge.Help create a safe and fun learning environment for the campersRecognize and respond to opportunities for group problem solvingProvide opportunities for the group so that each individual experiences success while at campEncourage respect for personal property, camp equipment and facilitiesSet a good example for campers in all areas, including cleanliness, punctuality, clean-up chores, rules, and sportsmanshipObserve camper behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures and apply appropriate behavior-management techniquesPrepare for and actively participate in pre-camp training and weekly meetingsMeet/communicate regularly with Director regarding concerns, updates, challengesSubmit all required paperwork on time
