Orientation and Welcome Week Opportunities for Local Businesses and Employers
There will be two opportunities offered once again for local businesses and employers to come to campus at the start of the academic year to meet and connect with our students for the purposes of selling goods, employee recruitment, and advertising services. As you are probably aware, we have a zero solicitation policy in place at Carson-Newman. However, these events will be the exceptions to that policy. Consequently, this will be a rare opportunity for businesses to come to campus and freely introduce themselves and their services to our students. We only require that personal information beyond the names and emails of our students not be collected for any purpose that could be understood as coercive in nature or intent.

Event #1 (Orientation)
When: Saturday, August 26, from 10:00am-3:00pm
Where and What: This event takes place during Orientation for parents and new students. It will be held outside on the student plaza between Blye-Poteat and Ted Russell Halls. A table and two chairs will be provided to participating businesses. If a tent is desired, the interested business will need to provide its own. This location does not allow for access to electricity. Space for this event is limited to 10 tables. Set up is at 9:15am. Take-down will immediately follow at 3:00pm.
Who: This event will primarily cater to the parents of our new students.

Event #2 (Welcome Week)
When: Tuesday, September 5, from 12:00-2:00pm
Where and What: This is The Get Local: A Local Business Fair which takes place during Welcome Week each year. It will be held in the Grand Hall of the Maddox Student Activities Center. A table and two chairs will be provided to participating businesses. There will be access to electrical outlets, if needed. Space will be limited. Cancellation is therefore required 48 hours in advance. (Though there is no participation fee, any no shows will be assessed a cancellation fee prior to participating in any future events.) Set up is at 11:00am. Take-down will immediately follow at 2:00pm.
Who: This event will primarily cater to all students, both new and returning.
