Community Connections - Hurricane Relief

In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, Carson-Newman students strove to find ways to connect with meaningful ways to offer support to those hardest hit by the storm.

In a joint effort with Bennington College, in Vermont, the Carson-Newman student organization Community Connections has connected with a grassroots organization in Staten Island, NY, Staten Island Strong. In addition to going door-to-door assessing damage and supporting their community, Staten Island Strong has begun a resource drive for non-perishable high needs supplies in their area.

In order to help victims return to a normal life as soon as possible, they have identified the following as high demand need:

Community Connections, the Bonner Center, and the Carson-Newman community at large are asking everyone to do whatever they can to assist in these efforts.
