Spring 2024 Audit Internship

Named one of the “Best Places to Work” in the federal government by the Partnership for Public Service, the TVA Office of the Inspector General is a federally mandated oversight organization charged with preventing and detecting fraud, waste, and abuse and fostering efficient and effective operations within the Tennessee Valley Authority. TVA is the largest government-owned electric utility in the United States, providing electricity to 10 million people in 7 states.

The audit internship program in the TVA Office of the Inspector General offers students an opportunity to work with professional auditors in diverse subject areas.  You will gain relevant work experience and a context for your classroom learning.  The program is structured to meet any internship requirements included in university curricula.

We have three Spring 2024 internships available in our Audit and Evaluations department.  There is one opening in each of the following departments:

IT Audits- The IT Audits department performs security and control audits of TVA’s IT infrastructure, policies, development processes, operations, and IT governance/oversight. IT Audits’ work stems from mandated reviews in the areas of privacy and TVA’s security program management as well as from risk assessments of existing and emerging technology.

Evaluations – Projects- The Evaluations – Projects department focuses on project performance by TVA and Contractors by performing evaluations of the effectiveness and efficiency of TVA’s planning processes and project management.

Evaluations – Operations- The Evaluations – Operations performs both comprehensive reviews and more limited-scope policy and program reviews to monitor compliance, measure performance, and assess the efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
