Carson-Newman Lyric Theatre presents "Big River."

On Thursday, Oct. 17, Carson-Newman University’s Lyric Theatre will raise the curtain on its fall production of “Big River.” Under the direction of Kyle Biery, “Big River” is based on Mark Twain’s legendary work “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.” Performances are scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 17, Friday, Oct. 18, and Saturday, Oct. 19, at 7:30 p.m., as well as a matinee on Sunday, Oct. 20, at 2 p.m.

Propelled by an award-winning score from the late country music artist Roger Miller, this musical retelling of an American classic brings humor, suspense and heartwarming moments to Carson-Newman’s Gentry Auditorium. Tickets are on sale now. Adult passes are $10, while seniors are $8. Students, faculty and staff may purchase tickets for $5. For more information or to purchase tickets, call (865) 471-4163.
